As your thoughts race,
Your fists clench,
Your eyes become more focused,
Your scars begin to burn,
Your heart begins to ache,
You don't know what you feel,
But you feel it,
Is it anger? Is it Frustration? Is it confusion?
You don't know,
All you do is get up,
And begin to strike the air,
A jab, a Hook, an uppercut,
A cross, a bob, a weave,
A topaz, a roundhouse, a step in,
Just fight it out, Just fight it off,
The only way you know how,
Shadow fighting in the darkness,
Here you are the shadow,
Nothing to fight but yourself,
Hearing your fists slice the air,
Feeling your mind become clearer and clearer,
Your muscles begin to tense,
You begin to tire,
Your guard drops slowly,
But you remain focused, Keep staring forward,
Eyes straight ahead, Let them pierce through the darkness,
Eyes like a hawk, sharp but discontented,
The answer isn't there yet, but you see something,
Just keep jabbing, keep stepping in,
Don't let your guard drop, not yet,
Wait for your opening, then strike,
Don't let what's bugging you in, Don't let it in,
Keep the rhythm going, you have to keep going or else you won't know,
Rhythm to the beat, The beat of the heart,
Keep it pumping, keep it going,
You won't let up,
You won't give up,
Keep fighting in the dark,
Till your knees buckle,
Till your knuckles break,
Till your lungs give out,
Till your heart stops,
You can't end it yet, Can't give up it.
You're so close, You just keep pushing forward,
Jab, hook, jab, uppercut,
The light is getting closer,
But then morning hits you,
It's 6:00 am, out of time,
Light shines through breaking concentration,
The light in the darkness fades away and blends in with the light piercing through your windows,
You lose sight of it,
Your fists drop, you sit down,
You look up and utter to yourself,
Almost there....Almost.
